Welcoming Twin Prime

In today’s mobile-first Internet economy, every millisecond counts. Speed wins. Google won because of speed. Amazon won because of speed. The next Internet winners will be apps and services that most quickly and most intuitively get information into the palms of users’ hands.

To that end, we are very happy to introduce a new addition to the True Ventures portfolio, Twin Prime. Twin Prime makes the performance of mobile apps better and smarter. Their mobile app acceleration solution powers the delivery of dynamic and static, as well as encrypted, content on both cellular and Wi-Fi networks. By focusing on performance bottlenecks in the wireless last mile, where 70 -90 percent of mobile latency resides, Twin Prime’s mobile-first technology can increase mobile app content delivery speeds consistently by over 100 percent without caching, compression or content modification.

Twin Prime Founders Kartik Chandrayana and Satish Raghunath are well-versed on how the Internet works at its deepest layers and have developed technology that scales and gets smarter as more people use Twin Prime-enabled apps. Twin Prime utilizes data and previously measured network behavior to predict app performance, ensuring that end customers never have a bad experience caused by network congestion or latency.

Kartik and Satish both got their Ph.D.s at Rensselaer (RPI). Later, Kartik worked for Cisco, where he and his team delivered one of the first commercial 1 Gigabits per second TCP applications over the WAN. Satish worked for Juniper, where he built flow monitoring and accounting systems for some really fast Juniper routers (terabits per second speed).

Not only do we believe in these Founders and their expertise, but we also have deep conviction in the way they are solving a problem that is the key to delivering a great user experience for billions of mobile phone users. The benefits of accelerated and optimized data delivery only get bigger as networks get more crowded with more users, more devices and more apps. We are very excited by how Twin Prime is using cloud and data and marrying them to mobile networks to solve a problem everyone feels: performance.
