Gretchen Robinson

Gretchen Robinson is True's head of investor relations, joining the team in 2026 to lead the firm's work with limited partners — the institutions that provide the capital fueling True's investments in tomorrow's founders. Long before she joined True, Gretchen knew the firm from the LP side of the table as an investor at Capital Dynamics.

Gretchen brings close to two decades of experience in private markets, including more than a decade in investor relations. She spent nearly eight years as a director on the Capital Formation team at GI Partners, overseeing investor relations for the firm's private equity funds, and served as vice president of investor relations at Genstar Capital.

She began her career as an investment banking analyst at Wells Fargo before spending six years on the investment side at Capital Dynamics, allocating capital to venture and private equity managers.

Gretchen holds a bachelor of science degree in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two daughters, who are begging for a puppy to join the family.
