Welcoming Gretchen Robinson to True Ventures

We're thrilled to welcome Gretchen Robinson to the True team as our first Head of Investor Relations.

Gretchen will work closely across our investor community and the True team, helping us deepen relationships with our longstanding Limited Partners, build new connections, and continue our work of being first to believe in the boldest, brightest Founders in the industry.

Gretchen brings close to two decades of experience in private markets, including more than a decade in investor relations. She joins True from GI Partners, where she spent nearly eight years as a Director on the Capital Formation team, overseeing investor relations for the firm's private equity funds. 

Before that, she served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Genstar Capital. Earlier in her career, she spent six years on the investment side at Capital Dynamics, allocating capital to venture and private equity managers — where she first came to know True as a Limited Partner, years before she joined the team.

"I was an early investor in True, and what's stood out to me over the years is how disciplined they've stayed to what they told LPs in their early days — the focus on Founders hasn't wavered,” shared Gretchen. “Even as an LP, the team was always so warm. It never felt purely transactional. That combination of discipline and warmth is rare, and it's why joining now, after so many years of knowing them, feels so special."
